Fraiser, Your Neighbor
If you’re new to Henry County, especially McDonough, welcome! I moved here in 2021 and, like many of you, arrived during a season of personal transition. After a divorce, my daughter set me up on Match and believe it or not, my husband was my second match. A year later, he proposed—and six months after that, we were married. McDonough quickly became home, and I’ve never looked back.
Since moving here, I’ve done my best to truly learn this community by showing up. I’ve attended city council meetings, county Board of Commissioners meetings, board, committee and authority meetings, and joined local friend groups, visited churches, met people at the gym, and walked my dog through my neighborhood, striking up conversations with many of my amazing neighbors.
And yes, like any place, Henry County has its highlights and its challenges. I’ve met some of the kindest, most passionate people here and unfortunately, a few that reminded me not everyone leads with kindness. Yet I still believe everyone has a right to their opinion, and more importantly, a right to be heard.
That’s why I spend time after public meetings on the phone or in group chats, just listening. Listening to concerns. Listening to ideas.
Listening to stories from people who care deeply about where we live. And while I believe concern and disagreement are normal, I draw the line at intimidation or aggression. That’s not how we build stronger communities.
I’m running for office because I believe we can build a better McDonough, together. Since arriving, I’ve tried to get more involved in our local government, not just as a citizen, but as a contributor. I asked to serve on boards and sent emails to local leaders and most went unanswered. So, I created my own path and now serve on several Boards, Chair a Board, lead McDonough 101 and started Citizens For McDonough.
I believe public service should be just that: service.
