Montina Young Fraiser Accepted to Prestigious Campaign Training at Yale University
McDonough, Georgia – June 2025 – Montina Young Fraiser, a civic leader and candidate for McDonough City Council At-Large, has been accepted into The Campaign School at Yale’s esteemed 2025 Summer Session, taking place June 9–13 in New Haven, Connecticut. Just 80 changemakers from across the globe were selected for this highly competitive, non-partisan program focused on preparing women to run successful and values-based political campaigns.
Fraiser brings a compelling personal story and a passion for service to her candidacy. A proud native of Steubenville, Ohio and graduate of Kent State University, she was once a homeless teen with only a GED. She has transformed her life through faith, perseverance, and a deep commitment to community. After a divorce, her daughter introduced her to online dating—where her now-husband became her second Match. A year later, he proposed, and just six months after that, they were married. In 2021, Montina made McDonough her home—and never looked back.
“From a homeless teen with a GED to Yale—I’m living proof that purpose will always make room for you,” Fraiser said. “This opportunity is more than a personal milestone—it’s a win for McDonough. I’m bringing everything I learn at Yale back to our city to build a stronger, more informed, and connected community.”
The Campaign School at Yale (TCSYale) delivers a rigorous curriculum led by nationally recognized campaign managers, strategists, and elected officials. Topics include fundraising, campaign planning, digital strategy, and navigating the unique challenges women face on the trail. Notable instructors have included campaign leaders for presidential candidates, congressional chiefs of staff, and White House strategists.
“Montina represents the kind of leadership we need right now—authentic, resilient, and rooted in service,” said Patricia Russo, Executive Director of The Campaign School at Yale. “Her voice, experience, and vision are essential to shaping the future of local politics.”
As she continues her run for City Council, Fraiser remains focused on the people of McDonough. “My heart is here,” she said. “This campaign isn’t just about winning a seat—it’s about building a better McDonough, together.”
“Since moving here, I’ve done my best to truly learn this community—by showing up,” Fraiser said. “From city council and county meetings to neighborhood walks with my dog, I’ve invested my time listening, connecting, and getting to know the people and places that make McDonough special. This campaign is my way of continuing to give back to the community that welcomed me so fully.”
