Henry County Candidate Qualification Update

March 6, 2026

If you are new to Henry County or the City of McDonough, you may not be familiar with how candidate qualifying works.

During Qualifying Week, individuals who wish to run for office must officially file paperwork with the Georgia Secretary of State in order to appear on the election ballot.

As a McDonough resident who works to help newer residents better understand local government and elections, I am sharing an informational update on candidates who have qualified for offices that impact Henry County residents.

Please note:
This list is not exhaustive and does not include all federal or statewide races. I will also share a separate update focused specifically on the Henry County legislative delegation when I have an opportunity to compile that information.

If you are unsure which districts apply to you, you can check your voter registration card or search the Georgia voter portal.
