πŸ—“ Thursday, February 26
⏰ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
πŸ“ Georgia State Capitol

I’m excited to officially share that Citizens for McDonough Advocacy Day at the Capitol is set and we have plenty of time to spread the word!

This Advocacy Day is an opportunity for McDonough and Henry County residents to experience state government up close, connect with elected leaders, and represent our community under the Gold Dome.

Last year, I attended nearly 75% of the legislative session, sat in on committee meetings, and learned firsthand how decisions made at the Capitol directly impact our local communities. Advocacy Days help make government more accessible, understandable, and engaging for everyday citizens.

Why Advocacy Days Matter
β€’ Connect with elected officials who represent you
β€’ Learn who your legislators are (just like we cover in Citizens 101)
β€’ Observe committee meetings and floor sessions
β€’ Represent McDonough and Henry County with pride
β€’ Build relationships and stay civically engaged

What to Expect

Our official program will take place from 1:00–4:00 PM, including:
β€’ Speakers
β€’ Citizen engagement
β€’ Photo opportunities
β€’ Time together in the Capitol Rotunda

For those who want the full Capitol experience:
I will be arriving earlier in the day to attend legislative sessions and committee meetings, and participants who want to join me earlier are welcome to do so. More details and a full agenda will be shared soon.

You do not have to live inside the city limits of McDonough to participate. If you live anywhere in Henry County, you are invited.
