Board Meetings vs. Reality TV: Why Transparency Matters in Local Government

So apparently I rustled a few feathers because I said attending certain board meetings feels like they should be on reality TV. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I’ve actually been saying this for years and it’s one of the reasons why I actually do enjoy local government meetings since I don’t watch reality TV.🤣

I haven’t been on social media much because we welcomed a new grandbaby into the family so I had other personal things going on.

Yet one thing about me… I keep it real. Always have and always will.

It seems like in this community we like to sugarcoat things instead of actually acknowledging the elephants in the room. Well, that’s not me. If something is inappropriate and should’ve been said in executive session, I’m going to call it out. If you don’t want the public to talk about what was said, then don’t say it in a public meeting.

I’m going to keep the people informed, engaged, and connected and advocate for others and myself. That’s who I am.
