Can we talk for a minute?

There’s an important difference between paid media and earned media.

Paid media is when you pay to be featured or promoted — even when it’s a “donation.” Earned media happens when people want to hear from you because of your consistency, credibility, and connection to the community.

I’ve included an example of earned media — genuine coverage that comes from showing up, serving, and staying consistent in the community. This is an interview from the archives! A few years ago I did a lot of TV interviews and this is one of my favorites.

No payments or donations were exchanged.

I’ve made it a priority to keep our community informed, engaged, and connected — not just this past year or since qualifying to run, yet since I made the decision to step up and serve more than a year ago.

My commitment to McDonough doesn’t start or end with election season. It’s reflected in the work, the conversations, and the impact that have been consistent all along.

There’s also a difference between sitting on the council and serving in the community.

That’s what’s been missing and it’s why I’m running.

I wouldn’t be in this race if I thought things were good enough.

We can do better.

We deserve better.

Let’s finish strong, McDonough.

Let’s build a better McDonough, together. 🌺
