🌸 Reflections from the Road…

As I head back to McDonough from Jacksonville, Florida where I was visiting my daughter, who’s expecting her second child in December, my heart is full. The baby shower was absolutely beautiful, and she is an incredible wife and mother. These are the moments that remind me why I decided to run for McDonough City Council At-Large.

Unlike some who were born and raised here, I’ve lived in several cities and states. I’m proud of that. It’s given me a broader perspective on what strong, thriving communities can look like and how we can build one together. I also come from a small town of just 18,000 people where some of my mother’s and father’s families still live. So I understand what it means to have deep roots, and I value that.

I’ve also attended both Democratic and Republican meetings because this is a non-partisan race and I represent everyone. I’ve built unexpected friendships and found support on both sides. There’s good and bad everywhere yet I’m about faith, family, and the future of McDonough.

I’m running for office because I believe we can build a better McDonough, together. Since arriving, I’ve tried to get more involved in our local government, not just as a citizen, but as a contributor. I asked to serve on boards and sent emails to local leaders and most went unanswered. So, I created my own path and now serve on several Boards, Chair a Board, lead McDonough Citizens 101 and started Citizens For McDonough.

I believe public service should be just that: service.

As we enter the final stretch of this campaign, I’m asking for your support:
