Early Morning Connections at the McDonough Park-and-Ride
This morning around 5 AM, I had the joy of meeting with neighbors to serve coffee, breakfast bars, and drinks. For me, this is what building a better McDonough, together looks like—connecting with residents, both new and longtime.
When I first moved here, I didn’t know how to get plugged in. Many of our new neighbors feel the same way. And while some longtime residents shared their frustrations, they also expressed hope because they see us doing something different. They see us serving, listening, and building community.
What encouraged me most is that so many of the amazing neighbors I met today want to serve, want to engage, and want to help build a stronger McDonough. That’s exactly what I’m here to do—teach, lead, and create space for all of us to connect and thrive.
A huge thank you to my volunteer who joined me at 4:30 this morning. Waking up that early isn’t easy, but she did it with grace—and I’m so grateful.
To those who were extra kind this morning, I appreciate you. My next meet & greet is today at noon at Sleek, and I’d love to see you there!
