Qualifying Day: A Milestone for McDonough
Words cannot fully express how much love, support, and encouragement I felt on my Qualifying Day. Filing to run for McDonough City Council At-Large was more than a formality, it was a moment of purpose, a step forward for our city, and a reminder of the power of community.
One of the greatest blessings of the day was having my sisterfriend Kristina by my side. She drove two hours to be here, came up the day before to scout City Hall, joined me for breakfast, walked with me through businesses, helped pass out information, and even scouted fundraising venues. She’s half-woman, half-amazing — and I’m grateful to know her and call her a sisterfriend. 💛
I was also humbled to have friends who traveled hours to be with me and neighbors right here in McDonough who showed up to show their support. That kind of love means everything.
On Sunday, my pastor said something would happen this week that would change the entire trajectory of our lives. For me, that moment was Qualifying Day.
Since 2021, I’ve made it my mission to serve and show up for McDonough:
- Attending 90% of City Council, commissioner, and board meetings
- Hosting dozens of small business training workshops
- Launching Citizens 101 for new McDonough residents
- Helping hundreds of small businesses engage in government contracting
- Referring over 100 people to substitute teaching opportunities
- Advocating for our community at the Georgia Capitol and the White House
But this campaign isn’t about me and it isn’t just about you. It’s about our community.
Momentum is building. Together, we can create a McDonough where families thrive, small businesses grow, seniors feel supported, veterans are honored, and new residents are welcomed.
This is only the beginning.
