New to McDonough or Henry County? Welcome!
When I moved to McDonough in 2021, I quickly realized something most people don’t tell you when you move to a new place — there’s a lot happening in local government, and it can take time to understand how everything works.
Attending meetings, learning how boards operate, and understanding who makes decisions in our community helped me feel more connected to the place I now call home.
That’s one of the reasons I created a short weekly segment called “News You Can Use in 60 Seconds.”
It’s simply a quick way to highlight some of the meetings and conversations happening in McDonough and Henry County, so residents can stay informed and engaged.
If you’re new to the area, I know firsthand that moving can feel a little overwhelming. My goal is to help make the transition easier by sharing information that helps you understand how our community works.
You can check out the News You Can Use videos using the links I’ll share below.
If you’d also like occasional updates about community conversations, local government, and ways to stay engaged, you’re welcome to join my newsletter:
I typically send updates quarterly, and it’s another way to stay connected with what’s happening in our community.
Whether you moved here last year or recently arrived, welcome to McDonough and Henry County.
Let’s keep building a better McDonough, together.
